He's ONE!!!! We got him out of his crib in the morning singing Happy Birthday and brought him onto our bed where there was a pile of presents waiting for us (meaning Dan and myself) to open. It really did feel like my own birthday! Liam got books and balls and toys and instruments and the cutest backpack with his own name on it. He did pretty well for himself!
We had a few friends over for dinner, and I couldn't resist decorating at lest a little. We did a Nautical/Fish theme.
The best part of the party was the cupcakes! I had a friend/fancy baker come over and help me bake cupcakes for most of the day on Saturday. We made coconut almond cupcakes with cream cheese almond frosting. The other ones are lemon cupcakes with a lemon curd filling and strawberry frosting made from fresh strawberries...all from scratch! I am very proud...even though I was pretty much just the assistant.
I took literally 32 pictures of Liam eating his cupcake. I had to do some serious paring down for this post but you can still get the gist of it, I'm sure. All of his training paid off (yes, I literally had him practice eating cupcakes in advance) and he ate like a champ.
right down to the wrapper
