"Hobbies"

Liam has developed a few new "hobbies" lately that we thought we might share. The first is 'stacking', although 'loading' might be more appropriate. Liam has this blue flat bed truck that he loves. At some point (I'm sure that we showed him what you are supposed to do with the bed) he decided that his favorite thing to do is stack a random assortment of toys onto the truck. Below are some of his better creations...

I have to admit that I put the ball in the bucket and showed Liam how to stick the animals into the holes. But after I showed Liam how to do that, he came up with the rest.

Next, Liam has taken up cooking! Not seriously, but he sure tries. If we let Liam run around the house on his own, he inevitably takes all the pans out of the cupboards and fills them with whatever he can find. Lately we've been letting Liam stir batter or eggs or other similar things to feed his addiction...it may be a little enabling, but it keeps him busy and happy while we try to make dinner or breakfast.

And the last hobby...photography!

I decided to forgo posting his actual photos on the blog to spare those of you who don't particularly like abstract art.

I apologize that this post is pretty boring, and disjointed. But it is a fairly accurate picture of how much excitement is going on at our house right now. Denise's mother did come and visit us, but it rained the entire time she was here. The only major thing they ended up being able to do was go to the Academy of Sciences in the city. But since most of the attractions here in Berkeley revolve around food, I don't think she was too disappointed since eating becomes the only thing to do when it rains.

And then to end, for those of you who haven't seen Liam's scared face....

That scared face is too cute! Are you sure you're not prompting him to do that as a joke?

Trust me...he was terrified! I thought I was such a good mom by paying the whole fifty cents to let him ride it, but he made that face the whole time and begged and begged to get off...until I finally got him out before the ride even ended:)
