About 24 hours after arriving home from Dallas, we RE-packed our bags to head out to Utah to see my family for New Years. It was so great to go home and spend time with my family! However, somewhere between Texas and Utah I picked up a terrible cold/flu so most of what I remember of this trip are short blurs of memories that happened between sleeping, sitting on the couch, sleeping, and sitting on the couch. I do have vague memories of New Years Eve...something about high heels, pink lipstick, and a booth at Chilis? Unfortunately there were no photos to document that little adventure...as was the theme for the whole trip...no photos! We were really bad. I would blame it on the illness, but it's probably more along the lines of laziness/forgetfulness. The following photos are pretty much the only photos we took on this trip!
This was our mini Christmas gift exchange. Liam got a whole host of new instruments to add to his one man band.
I painted this for my Dad for his birthday this year. About three or four years ago I gave my dad a coupon for his birthday...a coupon for one free painting (this was before my paintings were worth millions:). Of course, I never told him how much trouble he would have cashing it in! Finally, I pulled it together...and only three years late! It's based on the primary song he used to sing us when we were little, 'My Heavenly Father Love Me.' Really this was a great scheme to get one gift to count for two birthdays!
My good friend Jacqueline got these sweet markers and paper for Liam. They are magic because they only mark on this special paper...this is a great invention, just ask our walls! He was getting way into his drawing...super dramatic gestures, waving his arms about, getting in close for the tiny details. I think it must run in the family.
The weather was so clear we were able to go to this sweet little duck pond and feed the ducks. It was so crazy...the water was pretty much completely solid and they were still out there literally ice-skating on the pond. It was really cute...and also a bit challenging trying to keep Liam from joining them.
We also went to tons of good movies, or at least some good movies and some that were strictly mediocre. My sisters, mom and I had our annual sister's outing and my cute dad took care of Liam for 24 hours. Now THAT is what I really wish could have been documented! My dad hasn't changed a diaper in about 25 years...or more? We got to see my adorable little niece, Olivia, get blessed. Liam LOVED Olivia. He learned how to say 'BeBe' and he kept hugging and kissing her, it was SO sweet! He also got to hang out with his awesome little cousins Addison, Nyah, and Ali. We played some fun games and had LOTS of good talks. And yes, these are the only photos we took. What a bummer! If you have any photos of this trip, please send them my way!

Love the painting! I've actually been thinking that I want to commission a springtime tree from you someday :) The picture of Liam drawing is great, too.
