Our Fake Excursion into Home Ownership...

As many (probably all) of you know, we used to live with an older lady named Mary...yadda yadda yadda...we are now trying to update the house in order to get it ready for it to sell. We should maybe wait to post pictures until after the carpets are out and the hardwoods are refinished, but that might not even happen now, so I figured we would go ahead and post some before/afters.

We (by 'we' I mean Denise and the occasional helper) have done quite a bit of painting and rearranging. The house is really starting to get cozy and livable...just in time for us to leave. But who knows, maybe we'll get lucky and find another free place to live. So without further ado, the before, "afters"...and a few durings.

 

Notice the difference? Gone are the wood panels and the awkward spatial arrangement. Its hard to tell from the pictures, but it is really amazing what painting the panels did for the space. The carpet still brings it down though....

 

Denise has been quite the go getter, she does a little around the house every day between chasing Liam around. But, as you can see from the above photo, she has a good amount of fun doing it (sometimes). Liam has done his share of helping as well....from helping to pull the tape off the walls, to helping me hand doors and work on the sink. Screwdrivers have become his new obsession, if he gets a hold of one he'll walk around the house poking it at everything he has seen me use it on. Recently he has taken to knocking over the stools around the house and then trying to take off the legs....its a good thing he has no idea how to actually use the screwdriver or we might be in trouble.
